GUNS and DRUGS
R. v. J.J. | 2025 | Toronto
Client was the target of a gun and drug investigation that saw the Toronto police follow him all the way to Windsor and back to Newmarket, where they executed a search warrant on a residence and located 3 handguns, dozens of rounds of ammunition, a kilogram of meth, and ¾ kilogram of fentanyl. The police also seized cash, personal documents, and 4 bullet proof vests. However, they did not capture the client as male believed to be the accused escaped through the back door as police entered the front! After missing for several years, he was arrested in another city but by then the police notes and various reports where in such disarray that the crown could not pull the case together and eventually we had the charges stayed. Our clients’ cash, documents, phones, and bullet proof vests were returned in short order.
